[edit: see Diode Records for updates. A small diode array inside metal shielding produced 1.10 volts.]
Last night an hour or so before going to bed I soldered a 1.0uF mylar capacitor to the green LED, let it rest for awhile, and placed it inside a closed desk that is inside the dark room. It should be inside a metal shield as well, but I didn't want to disturb the present ongoing infrared LED experiment, and my experience in this field tells me that the external RF noise (e.g., radio stations) is insufficient to be of concern on such a small component that has no lengthy wires. Anyhow, this morning at ~ 5:10am PT I measured the voltage charge on the 1.0uF mylar, which was 0.353 volts (353mV)!! I'm guessing the capacitor was connected to the green LED for ~ 9 to 11 hours.
What's as equally amazing is the calculated predicted voltage @ 10 hours of charging time comes to 0.36 volts! Is this yet another coincidence or what because that's amazingly close to actual measured voltage of 0.353 volts.
So 0.353 volts is the new record. ![]()
