There’s a new & cool green environmentally friendly widget that darkens my website whenever there is no mouse or keyboard activity for 60 seconds. Believe it or not, darkening the screen saves energy, and it also saves your monitor.
So if you ever leave your computer, by all means feel free to leave it on my website. Within 60 seconds of no mouse or keyboard activity, the web page (not your entire screen and browser window) will go black with a message telling you to move the mouse or keyboard to instantly remove the dark shades.
Pretty cool!

Paul, there is nothing green about this screensaver when LCD monitors are used. It won’t turn of the backlight of a LCD monitor.
Ok, if you still work with CRT’s it will work.
Also besides CRT’s there are screens with LED *backlights* in a grid like pattern. It can turn off or dim the backlight LEDs so as to give darker blacks, thereby saving power and producing truer blacks. This is newer and improved technology. So the website screensaver works on these newer LCD screens as well.
