Hopefully everyone has been watching the outstanding TV series on the Science Discovery channel titled “Powering The Future.” For a long time the science community has known just how severe our environment and our energy needs are in. We need to get off of oil burning technology. If one does not care at all about the natural environment of our planet, the countless living beings that depend upon the natural environment, then at least care about your kind, humans, because soon we are approaching the day when it will take more than one barrel of oil to get one barrel out of the Earth. Anyhow, in a recent episode of “Powering The Future,” the host M.A. Sanjayan met with one of the leading green experts. Sanjayan asked him, if you could ask people to do one thing in going green, then what would it be. The expert said he would ask people to stop eating meat! He went on to say that the energy required and also the gases given off by the cows is alarming. I hope every person on Earth would *PLEASE* consider eating less meat. Not only will it help our world in the most way, but it’s the humane choice. Most people have no clue of the miserable life these poor industrial milking cows go through being pinned up and in a head lock with machines sucking all of their milk till just on the verge of where the nipples would bleed! And for what? To only end up being killed for their meat!! Humanity is indeed growing up, entering adulthood, becoming humane and considerate to *all* living beings. Please consider. Do you care about other living beings? They, Cows, live in a nightmare! Please consider eating less meat, and drinking less milk. Cows Milk is not a good source of Vitamin D compared to other sources. One 8 oz serving of Cows Milk only has 100 IU Vitamin D. Herring, for example has 1383 IU Vitamin D! Pink canned Salmon has 530 IU Vitamin D. Halibut has 510 IU Vitamin D. Shitake mushrooms has 249 IU Vitamin D! Can you believe that, 4 Shitake mushrooms has 2.49 times more Vitamin D than an 8 ounce glass of Milk. Canned Tuna has 200 IU Vitamin D in just 3 ounces. Soy milk has the same amount of Vitamin D as Cows milk, and I tell you that a good brand of Soy milk taste a lot better than Cows milk. Indeed some brands of Soy milk taste terrible. You just have to find a good brand like Trader Joe’s. Here’s a table –> | Natural Sources | IU Vitamin D/Serving |
|---|
| Herring | 1383 per 3 ounces | | Herring, pickled | 578 per 3 ounces | | Salmon, pink, canned | 530 per 3 ounces | | Halibut | 510 per 3 ounces | | Cod liver oil* | 450 per teaspoon | | Catfish | 425 per 3 ounces | | Mackerel, Atlantic | 306 per 3 ounces | | Oyster | 272 per 3 ounces | | Shitake mushrooms, dried | 249 per 4 | | Sardines, pacific, canned in tomato sauce | 213 per 1/2 cup or 182 per sardine | | Sardines, atlantic, canned in oil | 203 per 1/2 cup or 33 per sardine | | Tuna, light meat, canned in oil | 200 per 3 ounces | | Shrimp | 129 per 3 ounces | | Egg, cooked | 26 per whole egg 25 per yolk | | Fortified Sources | IU Vitamin D/Serving |

Someone just emailed me about an awesome website on climate change –> http://www.fly.co.uk/co2-emissions.html At the end it says, “If everyone in the United States ate a vegetarian diet for seven days, they would save around 700 megatons of greenhouse gas emissions.”
That is so true! And hence one reason why I do not eat meat! The other reason is because I am 100% opposed to humanities global scale slaughter of living animals.
While on lunch just now I saw this on CNN live TV –> http://solveclimate.com/blog/20100523/white-house-honors-6th-graders-major-bioheat-achievement It’s not yet on the CNN website. This is amazing, 6th graders! If even 1 out of 100 people *cared* like these young people, this world would be a Utopia in comparison, and humanity would be at peace, no wars, flying the Stars in spaceships, living in orbit in beautiful & wonderful cities. Instead, we get people who either don’t give 2 cents enough to get help others, or who are so involved in filing law suites.
The following is a just a small fraction of the entire list. Lets *please* not allow magnificent creatures such as the Mountain Gorilla, Polar Bear, and the giant whales become part of that list.

Depending on your time zone, Earth day is 1 to 2 days away! Are you ready for the parties? In Los Angeles there are planned parties everywhere. Another option, that is becoming popular, are virtual parties. The star of the first Bachelorette, Trista Sutter, and her husband Ryan will be hosting a daylong Earth Day Party on ParentsConnect.com. There 10 hour long virtual party, starting at April 22, 10 am – 8pm EST, will be one filled with games, prizes, and fun. For details go to http://www.parentsconnect.com/connect/boards/hot_topics/earth_day/chat_it_up.jhtml
If you’re not into the famous Bachelorette reality TV show, then consider starting your own virtual party. Invite your “free energy” friends, or family. Also you might be interested in hosting a real Earth Day party. A few common tips include: - Use Eco-invites, instead of paper.
- Arrange for Green transportation. Encourage your friends to bike, walk, and carpool, or take public transportation to your party. Include information on bus schedules in your invitations.
- Eating green. This has less of an impact on our beautiful environment. Remember Earth Day is the day to experiment with foods that you would normally not eat. Most people don’t like tofu dishes, but I tell you that there are tofu dishes, and then there are tofu dishes. I have no idea why, but most tofu foods created by companies are terrible. Yet, there are some that taste better than most dishes I’ve had. So don’t give up on tofu. Also there’s numerous other options such as tempeh? Or how about the famous Greek food, Hummus. That stuff is great, especially hot & spice Hummus. There are endless popular vegetarian dishes, some as simple as baked beans. Go for the organic dishes on Earth day, such as potato chips. I wonder if Sun Chips are organic. Well, they’re the best anyway. Try variates of soy cheese. Again, test beforehand to find the good brands.
- Use green colors in your party decorations.
Enjoy your day on Earth, Earth day! It’s one of the biggest events globally. Most importantly, don’t forget what this day represents. Lets help heal the ecosystem or give to non-profit organizations that are trying their best to help. Enjoy! earthday.org Earth day US EPA Earth day network Earth day 2010 Planetpals Earth day
I was formed of the following NOAA data, http://www.arctic.noaa.gov/detect/ice-seaice.shtml Here is the arctic sea ice from year to year, starting at 2002, and ending at 2009 –> Arctic sea ice, 2002:
Arctic sea ice, 2005:
Arctic sea ice, 2006:
Arctic sea ice, 2007:
Arctic sea ice, 2008:
Arctic sea ice, 2009:
Up to 2007 the arctic sea ice has decreased. The last two years it has increased. Again, that is a natural fluctuation. We cannot see the trend from just a few years. To see the trend, we need to go back a long time, as clearly seen in the following graph,
As seen in the graph, the arctic sea ice has grown the past two years, but when we analyze more data we clearly see the trend. The arctic sea ice extent is rapidly decreasing. There has always been natural fluctuations from year to year, as you can see in the graph, where it increases for numerous years, then decreases numerous years, but fluctuations is not to be confused with a trend. The trend is obvious. The only recent scientific poll was taken by the University of Illinois, which showed that over 97% of active publishing climatologist believe humanity is a major cause of global warming. Each person can make a difference. Please try to reduce your carbon footprint.
Folks, there is an army of people who are posting out right lies about climate change all over the Internet. Big Oil companies such as Exxon Mobile were caught red handed paying millions of dollars to people & organizations that are fighting against the global warming and green movements. So who’s fueling these people? There tactics are simple. Search for any *fluctuations* that is in their favor, and continually post about it. Fluctuations has nothing to do with trends. There are always fluctuations. The following examples are just a few.
Click to enlarge image. Anyone can find nearly countless relatively short periods of time where the surface temperatures began decreasing. The amount of fluctuations merely depends the mathematical average.

The above graph has a greater average, and is thus more difficult to find fluctuations, but there are still a few. For example, during the period from ~ 1962 to 1967 the average glacier thickness actually increased. Sadly enough, that is what hardcore conservatives & anti climate change use as tools. That is called bad science. Actually it’s more like anti-science. I love conservatives, but the hardcore conservatives are giving other people a bad name. Lets please start our own arm and counteract such posts with the truth! The following graph shows a good understanding the fluctuations.
The above graph shows the same data as the previous graph, except with less averaging. As you can see, the data in this graph provides more fuel for anti climate change. For instance, the latest fuel is to use the data from the last few years, which you can see shows the arctic sea ice thickness is increasing. Yet, when an active publishing scientist, or anyone objective person for that matter views the entire graph, they can clearly see the trend. In fact, the trend is that the arctic sea ice extent is rapidly decreasing since 2000. Everyone can help combat this army by counteracting such posts with the truth!
This link was emailed to me by a friend who’s very knowledgable in climate change science. I’ve noted one his of impressive global warming graphs that he created. By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: March 30, 2010 http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/31/science/earth/31climate.html
NASA has now shown that 2010 will be the hottest year on RECORD: http://environment.change.org/blog/view/nasa_2010_will_be_the_hottest_year_on_record I would love for everything to be fine and dandy, but being objective, and after doing detailed scientific research into global warming data, it is a sad truth that global warming is a fact. Although it takes some fundamental physics to understand the science. One major misunderstanding by the public is that if the global temperature cools for a few years, that it suddenly means there’s no global warming. Or if their country sees a record blizzard, then they laugh at the idea of Global Warming. Science understands a simple concept called fluctuations. There always has, and always will be global temperature fluctuations, as seen in the data, such data that has been made public since the mid 1800′s,
As one can see in the graph, the global temperature has always fluctuated. In order to see a pattern, we use averages. We cannot see global temperature pattern for a few years average. It takes *decades* to see the global temperature pattern. The above graph shows two averages, annual average, and a five year average. The annual average has far more fluctuations than the five year average, as expected. The graph shows a clear pattern of the global temperatures rising. Some people have suggested this is caused by the Sun. Obviously Sun cycles effects global temperature, but this is a minor effect. I’ve done detailed analysis of the solar irradiance, and there is weak correlation. The only correlation to explain the above global warming is the dawn of the industrial age. The increase in CO2 values produced by humanity is a perfect match. So then what about natural global warming cycles occurring over the hundreds of thousands of years, each followed by an ice age. Global warming cycles is a natural event, but the rise in global temperatures has always increased at an extremely slow rate. The problem is that the industrial age hits, and the global CO2 begins to suddenly rise at a relatively *rapid* and unnatural rate, which is followed by a rapid and unnatural increase in global temperature. That is the great concerns of the active academic science community around the world. In totality, the ice bergs and glaciers are melting an at alarming rate –>
The global temperatures since the year 1000,
Click on image to enlarge. The industrial age began when the global temperature began to increase.
One of the most convincing graphs is the average temperature of rural areas versus major cities. Please take a look at this data. The red graph is the average temperature of rural areas. The black graph is the average temperature of major cities. As we can clearly see, the temperature rise is occurring in major cities, not rural areas! –>
So please, lets all do our part. Lets try our best to help reduce your carbon footprint. This is so serious. How can I get people to understand the severity of this?
It’s a bit sad how so many anti global warming non-scientists send me emails saying this and that. There is a good reason why people go to college for at least 4 years to get a degree or at least spend time studying on a daily basis. A lot of conservatives are grasping at anything, lies, they can to attack the science of climate change. Recently someone was saying that the arctic sea ice is now growing. So people can understand some fundamental physics, below is a graph showing the artic sea ice extent from 1900 to 2008. As you can see in the very last section in the graph, the extent is increasing. Non-scientists ask why. The answer is the exact same reason why it has increased countless other times over the years. Please take a look at the graph, taking special note to the fluctuations. See how many times it’s increased. That is called fluctuations. Again, one must take a *proper average* in order to see the trend. As you can see, there is clearly a trend when we analyze the entire data. To only analyze the last few years is called bad science. When we analyze the entire data set, we can see the trend, that the decline in Arctic sea ice is decreasing at an alarming rate. PLEASE folks, please be responsible and try your best to decrease your carbon footprint. At least do it for your great great grandchildren! PLEASE!!!!
On the far right side bar of the website there’s a new section, “Recent Comments.” It shows a list of the 10 most recent comments. Comments can be made by anyone (no registration required) by typing your comment below any blog post and pressing the submit button. Although all comments are moderated. I get a lot of angry people attacking the “free energy” and global warming movement. It’s a free world, and I don’t want those unscientific comments on my forum. They can freely post their lies, rumors, and unscientific comments on a zillion other forums. I’m more interested in objective science, not angry “anti global warming” people who read and believe rumors that are being spread like a plauge. A recent poll by the University of Illinois shows that over 97% of the active academic climatologist scientists believes humanity is a major cause of Global Warming.
The following new article talks about two environmental criminals, David Koch and his brother Charles, who are VP & CEO of an oil supply and refining company, Koch Industries. These two lobbyist block clean energy, and fund global warming denial front groups –> http://environment.change.org/blog/view/the_biggest_polluter_you_never_heard_of
Good for the Aussie Scientists, http://environment.change.org/blog/view/aussie_scientists_strike_back_against_skeptics In case anyone hasn’t noticed, some group(s) appear to have started an undisclosed campaign to post out right lies about climate change on the Internet. Big Oil, for one, has been caught red handed paying millions of dollars to people and groups who are against global warming. It would not be surprising at all if Big Oil is paying people under the table to post lies about climate change. If you’re a private investigator, you are strongly encouraged to investigate this. It would be the find of the century!! The Internet has become the new way to spread information, and IMO it’s an almost guarantee that Big Oil is compensating people under the table to spread lies about climate change.
There is a battle occurring between political conservatives and active academic scientists. I’ve spent a great amount of time analyzing Global Warming from an objective scientific stance, and the scientific proof is overwhelming that global warming is a fact. The problem is that unscientific biased conservatives are spreading false rumors like wild fires because they do not want to take responsibility of paying $ to help undo the damage done by humanity. They read each others blogs, and state rumors as facts. A recent poll taken by the University of Illinois shows that over 97% of *actively publishing* climate scientists agree that *human* activity such as fossil fuel burning and deforestation is a significant contributing factor to global climate change– reference: Peter T. Doran and Maggie Kendall Zimmerman. “Examining the Scientific Consensus on Climate Change”. University of Illinois at Chicago. http://tigger.uic.edu/~pdoran/012009_Doran_final.pdf. According to additional sources, the majority of scientists who work on climate change agree on the main points. Polar ice caps photo:
As seen in photo, a span of just 6 years, between 2007 and 2001, the arctic ice is smaller, thinner, younger. For a full article on this tragedy, please go to, http://www.blogonsmog.com/wet-wednesday/polar-ice-caps-and-galileo.html

If you are working on the latest and greatest awesome climate model, Decadal Climate Prediction System (DePreSys), then please contact me. It seems great & promising. The amount of cpu power required to run that model is massive, right? DePreSys, an advanced model that takes into every know consideration predicts the global warming *trend* will get far worse than it is. Here is the global warming data that has been publicly available since the beginning of 1850′s. You can’t hide that kind of data.
Click to enlarge image The following graph shows the 5 year average, and the yearly average. This is great data that has been in public hands beginning in the mid 1800′s. You can’t hide that kind of data. Click to enlarge image
Important article here just published today, http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100110/OPINION/1100347/-1/NEWSMAP That’s science, not claims. Global warming is still here, and as stated many times it caused wicked weather. Global warming means more water molecules evaporate, and such molecules must collect and fall somewhere. During the winters it causes massive snow storms. A big year in snow storms does *not* mean global cooling. Not by a long shot. Global warming is alive & well. Also, lets not forget that global temperature fluctuations have always exists. We can see in the graphs going back to the mid 1800′s that the global temperature has significant fluctuations that during those periods one might think there’s global cooling, but nothing could be further from the truth. The global warming trend is still here. You cannot take a few years average and see the trend.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change_consensus “Over 97% of actively publishing climate scientists agree that human activity such as fossil fuel burning and deforestation is a significant contributing factor to global climate change[1]” — reference: Peter T. Doran and Maggie Kendall Zimmerman. “Examining the Scientific Consensus on Climate Change”. University of Illinois at Chicago. http://tigger.uic.edu/~pdoran/012009_Doran_final.pdf. Credible research scientists such as Gavin Schmidt with NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies are saying the recent global warming email incident has nothing to do with disproving global warming. Quote from Gavin Schmidt at NASA, “There’s nothing in the e-mails that shows that global warming is a hoax” Unscientific anti global warmest say the over the past year the planet is now cooling. That falls under the bad science category because it is impossible to obtain a global warming trend from averaging global temperatures from a few years, and the reason is due to global temperature fluctuations. Global temperatures have always fluctuated by significant amounts. Real scientists find the trend from decades of global temperatures, which clearly shows the global warming trend. Exxon Mobil (Big Oil) has been caught red handed paying millions of dollars to people and groups who are against global warming. This is documented at WikiPedia, which contains the references. Please see the links at the bottom of this blog under “Big Oil caught red handed” for details.
Global Warming is a scientific fact, but has become so political that conservatives are now out right lying. One example of bad science is to even suggest that a few years worth of global temperature averages can show a global warming trend. That is impossible because of temperature fluctuations. It is a known fact that global temperatures fluctuation by a great amount. In order to properly analyze the data from global temperatures one needs to take an average spanning at least a decade. Here is the data plot of global temperatures, human population, and CO2 spanning back to 1850 –>
Click to enlarge The data shows a correlation between the industrial age and the rise in global temperature.
Some people suggest (without providing any data) that global warming is due to the Sun. That is not true. The data of solar irradiance shows a lack of correlation between global warming and solar irradiance.
Some people falsely suggest most scientists do not believe in global warming. That is the complete opposite of the truth. This lie started with Noah E. Robinson, a faculty member of OISM, which circulated the Oregon Petition against global warming. OISM is headed by Dr. Arthur B. Robinson who lectures on global warming skepticism at the Heartland Institute, a conservative/libertarian free-market think tank that often funds global warming-skeptical research and is funded in part by ExxonMobil, a petroleum company. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oregon_Institute_of_Science_and_Medicine The petition goes on the say, 31,000 American scientists opposed, on scientific grounds, to the hypothesis of “human-caused global warming” Key word is “Human-caused.” Even this petition is not about if global warming is real, but if humanity is the cause. The data is overwhelming that global warming is real. It’s getting interesting folks, as the opposing sources lead to Big Oil. I would suggest objective people read what this anti global warming petition is, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Warming_Petition_Project Pretty sad how these conservatives / anti global warmest are out right lying to the public. They were caught red handed. Their petition is fraudulent.
So just how many scientists believe global warming is real? Nearly 100%. They know for fact global warming is real, but the real question is how many scientists believe humanity is the cause of global warming. Here is a WikiPedia quote, with references,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change_consensus “Over 97% of actively publishing climate scientists agree that human activity such as fossil fuel burning and deforestation is a significant contributing factor to global climate change[1]“
The following WikiPedia page starts off with, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change_consensus “The majority of climate scientists agree that global warming is primarily caused by human activities such as fossil fuel burning and deforestation. Environmental organizations, many governmental reports, and the non-U.S. media agree on this virtually unanimous agreement in the scientific community in support of human-caused global warming, although there is less agreement on the specific consequences of this warming.” Here are some of the references for only the above statement, ^ “Global Warning “. Wow, the more I dive into this, the more “oil” pops into the picture. I’ll never buy gas from Exxon again. Here are a few quotes from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change_denial Quotes, the numbers in [] are the wikipedia references, “A survey carried out by the Royal Society found that in 2005 ExxonMobil distributed $2.9m to 39 groups that the society said “misrepresented the science of climate change by outright denial of the evidence”.[30]“ “The British Royal Society conducted a survey that found ExxonMobil had given US$ 2.9 million to American groups that “misinformed the public about climate change,” 39 of which “misrepresented the science of climate change by outright denial of the evidence”.[3][42] In 2006, the British Royal Society issued a demand that ExxonMobil withdraw funding for climate change denial. The letter, which was leaked to the media, drew criticism, notably from Timothy Ball and others, who argued the society attempted to “politicize the private funding of science and to censor scientific debate.”[43]“ “Cooney reportedly removed an entire section on climate in one report, whereupon an oil lobbyist sent him a fax saying “You are doing a great job.”[5]“ “Some denials and disinformation campaigns have been promoted by individuals or groups that are funded by special interest groups with a financial interest in misrepresenting the scientific consensus on climate change[1], particularly those with ties to companies like ExxonMobil or the energy lobby.[2][3][4] “ “Then-Vice President Dick Cheney‘s connections to the Energy Lobby, and to ExxonMobil in particular, have fueled speculation that his characterization of climate change science is linked to the “denial industry.”[37] In 2000, Cheney’s Energy Task Force, officially known as the National Energy Policy Development Group, invited the executives of various major oil companies, including Exxon, Conoco, BP, and Royal Dutch Shell, to consult with the White House regarding the development of a national energy policy, although this was initially denied by the participating companies.[38] An Exxon lobbyist – among others – was thanked by the U.S. Undersecretary of Global Affairs for Exxon‘s role in convincing President Bush to reject the Kyoto accords. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists: In her talking points for a 2001 meeting with a group that included ExxonMobil lobbyist Randy Randol (uncove#ff9999 through a Freedom of Information Act request), U.S. Undersecretary for Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky thanked the group for their input on global warming policy, noting, ‘POTUS [the president of the United States] rejected Kyoto, in part, based on input from you.Global Climate Coalition, according to a leaked 1991 “strategy memo,” set out not to gather data and test explanations, but to influence public perception of climate change science and “reposition global warming as theory rather than fact.”[14] The strategy was criticized as misrepresenting science in a 2006 Royal Society letter to ExxonMobil expressing disappointment that a recent industry publication “leaves readers with such an inaccurate and misleading impression of the evidence on the causes of climate change … documented in the scientific literature.”[15]“ “The United Kingdom identified the issue of climate change denial as a major topic on its agenda while chair of the G8 group of wealthy countries in 2005.[11]“ “Several think tanks funded by Exxon or, later, ExxonMobil, to contest climate change have also reputedly received funding from Philip Morris such as the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Cato Institute, the Heritage Foundation, the Hudson Institute, the Frontiers of Freedom Institute, the Reason Foundation, George Mason University‘s Law and Economics Center, and the Independent Institute.[27]“ “Cooney announced his resignation two days after the story of his tampering with scientific reports broke.[34] A few days later it was announced that Cooney would take up a position with ExxonMobil.[35]“
I would suggest objective people read what this anti global warming petition is, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Warming_Petition_Project Pretty sad how far on a limb these anti global warming people will go.
